About Us

What we have accomplished through a group of dedicated volunteers

·        We have placed more than 2,000 cats and dogs in loving homes in the past 10 years.
·        Our adoption outreach is aggressive, as volunteer adoption coordinators spend each weekend at a local PetSmart finding loving homes for our fosters.
·        Currently, we are raising funds to rebuild our shelter (in May 2007, fire destroyed our only shelter).
·        Today, we remain committed to helping animals through a network of foster homes.
·        We currently own a 3.45-acre parcel of land where we intend to erect a no-kill shelter.
·        The main shelter in our region (county operated) is not a no-kill shelter and is overcrowded.
·        We are engaged in a successful trap-neuter-return program in our community.
·        Many pet owners throughout the region have been helped with Rosie’s Fund, a unique care assistance program that helps finance veterinary bills.
·        Our fundraising activities and community involvement ensure our building’s success.

Who we are!

Animal Outreach is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping the abused, abandoned and neglected animals of Cape May County and beyond. Animal Outreach (AO) began as a fostering network in 1998, and now we again use our foster homes to rehabilitate and care for needy animals.
We have had a devastating setback.  Until recently, we could only house cats and kittens in our small facility, but it tragically burnt down in the early morning of May 18, 2007.  The fire that struck the trailer, the origin of which was an electrical malfunction in the adjacent trailer owned by the City of Cape May.  We are broken hearted but remain committed to the animals that we serve and hope to be able to build a new shelter on property that we had previously purchased.  We remain determined to erect a no-kill shelter and sanctuary where both dogs and cats will be lovingly cared for and if necessary, spayed or neutered, before being placed in a forever home.
There is a tremendous need for our services and we expect to continue our operation indefinitely and hope to continue our mission well into the future.  We are a small operation with a big heart and bigger plans.   And the community is behind us in reaching our goals. We hope you can help us with our commitment to the animals.  Please contact us. Let us know how you can help!
